Dr. Igor Dekhkanov
Igor Dekhkanov is a dedicated and compassionate general and cosmetic dentist based in Maspeth, NY. Dr. Dekhkanov accomplished his undergraduate career at the Hunter College in New York City and earned his doctorate in dental medicine from the New York University College of Dentistry. He also completed his post-graduate residency training in general practice at the Jamaica Hospital in New York a level 1 traum center.
Dr. Dekhkanov routinely participates in continuing education opportunities to ensure that he remains relevant for his patients. He has completed an IDEA mini residency in endodontics to improve his root canal technique, as well as several courses with Spear Education, a leading continuing education provider for dentists. He also takes advantage of seminars and workshops to sharpen his already considerable skills in cosmetic and implant dentistry.
Dr. Dekhkanov performs many procedures, including tooth extractions, crown installations, root canals, tooth colored bonding, orthodontics, and other cosmetic and restorative procedures. His practice uses the latest in dental technology to optimize dental care, including digital radiographs, intraoral photos, 3D xrays, and digital impressions, which minimize patient discomfort and facilitate better patient education.
Dr. Dekhkanov is originally from the former Soviet Union and fluent in Russian as a result. He immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old with his mother, who raised him single-handedly. He is a father with 3 children. He greatly anticipates and enjoys the time he gets to spend with his family.

Welcome to Williamsburg Dental Works! I’m Dr. Emily Malka, your friendly neighborhood dentistry expert. If you can’t find me in the office, you may run into me in the park with my sweet dog Flow. I am a graduate of McGill University and refined my skills during my residency at Columbia – New York Presbyterian Hospital. My dental journey led me to practice in my hometown of Montreal, Canada, before making my return back to New York City. Now, as a part of the Williamsburg team, I bring a touch of Canadian warmth to our practice. My expertise spans a wide range of dental services, including preventive care, general dentistry, and specialized treatments like TMJ disorder and Invisalign. I believe in the power of preventive dentistry to maintain optimal oral health and work closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans. I understand that going to the dentist may be stressful for some, but with a patient-centered approach, I will take the time to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and ensure you feel at ease throughout your dental journey.
